MCCAULEY, John N. (Jack), Sr.


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Friday, April 4, 2003 John N. "Jack" McCauley, Sr., 79, of Sun Bird, AZ, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2003 in Gilbert, AZ. He was born May 10, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois. He was a U.S. Navy Flight Engineer on a Flying Boat in the South Pacific during WWII. For 20 years he worked for International Harvester as a Material Manager in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In 1983 he retired and in 1992 he and his wife Lois moved to Arizona. He was an active member of the community, serving as treasurer of the Niners Golf Club and Vice President of the Irish Club and an active member of St. Steven Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Lois M. McCauley; two daughters, Kathy (Tim) Wright and Dianne M. (Roy) Edgar and two sons, John N. (Glory) McCauley Jr. and Robert J. (Sandra) McCauley. Also surviving is one sister, Patricia Krupela and 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert J. McCauley who died in action in the Philippines as a Paratrooper in WWII. Visitation will be Friday, 5-7 PM at Valley of the Sun Mortuary, 10940 E. Chandler Heights Rd., Chandler and Saturday, 9-10 AM with a rosary at 9:20 AM at St. Steven Catholic Church, 24827 S. Dobson Rd., Sun Lakes, AZ. Followed with a 10 AM, Sat. Mass at the church.
