GALLEGOS, Justin T. (S. Sgt.)


Evergreen Mortuary, Tucson, Arizona S. Sgt. Justin T. Gallegos, U.S. Army, 27, of Ft. Carson, CO, formerly of Tucson, gave the ultimate sacrifice for his country, October 3, 2009 in Kamdesh, Afghanistan. Preceded in death by his father Edward H. Gallegos, brothers Eric & Isaac Gallegos, Justin is survived by his beloved mother Josefina “Yolanda” Heideman, devoted son MacAidan dear brother of Matthew S., Amber N. and Sunshine Gallegos; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Justin graduated from Tucson High were he excelled in football and was always a leader. A Sgt. in the US Army, he served two tours in Iraq and was on his third mission in Afghanistan when he was killed in action. Sgt. Gallegos was awarded two Purple Hearts prior to his death and will be postuminously promoted to Staff Sgt. and awarded a Bronze Star and a third Purple Heart. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, Oct. 15, 10:00 AM at EVERGREEN MORTUARY, with Rev. Mike Martinez officiating. Visitation will be held Wed., 4 – 7 pm at EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile.
