The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Saturday, April 5, 2003 Elizabeth E. Phillips, our beloved mother, grandmother and sister left us and went to her eternal home on April 1, 2003. She was born October 10, 1906 in Ashland, Kentucky, the 2nd of nine children to Charles E. and Ida Flannery Parsons. She graduated from nursing school in Cincinnati, Ohio as a Registered Nurse, shortly before marrying her sweetheart Donald Phillips. The family moved from Ohio to Arizona in 1941. She was a dedicated and compassionate nurse who loved her work and had a long and successful career until her retirement. Elizabeth became a Christian, trusting in Christ as her Savior, when she was 49 years old. She deeply loved the Lord and His Word and continuously acknowledged his faithfulness in her life. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her family. She is survived by two sons: Jim (Suzanne) Phillips, Phoenix, Arizona and Dr. Bob (Bonne) Phillips, Lubbock, Texas; grandchildren: Beverly (Gene) Jones, Shirley (Rob) Vardiman, Donnie (Linda) Phillips, Norman (Rene) Phillips, Paul (Sue) Phillips, Elma (Mike) Sproul, Dr. Robert (Robin) Phillips, Dr. Brooke (Shawn) Baker, Lisa Phillips, Lori (Pete) Olson, numerous great grandchildren, 2 sisters, 3 brothers and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Don Phillips, parents Charles and Ida Parsons, sisters, Inez Nelson, Sarah Bonner and brother Gene Parsons.
