Robert (Bob) Calvin Lincoln, Born Nov. 3, 1917 to C.L. Lincoln and Irene Robbins Lincoln in Napa, CA at the Lincoln Ranch. Passed away Saturday, May 31, 2003 at home surrounded by his family.
Bob moved from California to Arizona at the age of 2, growing up all over Arizona. Graduated from Safford High School in 1935. Was a World War II veteran. Spent many years as a ranch-hand cowboy, and roundup cook. He was an equipment operator for the Forest Service and the Town of Payson. Residing in Payson since 1965. Bob will be remembered for his great stories and dutch-oven cooking.
Preceded in death by his parents, brother Ben Lincoln, sisters Jessie Woolsey and MaryJane John. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Ailene Lincoln. His children, son Casey (Terry) Lincoln of Wilcox, AZ. Daughters Betty Leon of Payson/Scottsdale, Joanne (Vern) Byers of Mesa and Sue (Alfonso) Munoz of Payson. Nine grandchildren, Jared (Andi) McSweeny, Michael and David Leon, Casey Lincoln, Guy and Verna Byers, Ken (Heather) Byers, Jimmy (Darsha) Oestmann and Dawne Oestmann. Seven great grandchildren, Ian McSweeny, Destiny Byers, Jana Tucker, Jennifer Byers, Dillon Hedgpeth, Chloe and Carsyn Oestmann. Also surviving brothers, John and Larry Lincoln, sister Judy George, and many other extended family and friends.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be Saturday, June 7, 2003, at 10:30 at his home, 901 E. Miller Rd., Payson, with a BBQ to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to RTA Hospice, 107 E. Frontier St. Payson, AZ 85541. Arrangements entrusted to Messinger Payson Funeral Home.
