FARR, Virgene

Virgene Jarvis Farr, 77, of St. Johns, passed away at her home in St. Johns on March 13, 2001. She was born August 24, 1923 in St. Johns and was a life long resident. Her husband, Dewey H. "Bert" Farr; a son, Donald E. Farr of St. Johns; and 3 daughters, Mary Beth Ellsworth of St. Johns, Annette Holt of Mesa and Jeanne Greer of Queen Creek; 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren survive her. A brother, Earl Jarvis and 2 sisters, Zeldene Dahm and Nina Gale, also survive her. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Hubert; a son-in-law, James Buchanan; and a grandson, Ben Farr. She was a loving wife and mother and loved to be surrounded by her family. Her grandchildren lovingly knew her as "Mama Gene". She was truly loved by all those who knew her. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in several positions and especially loved her visiting teaching. Her loving service and unconditional love will be missed by all. Services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2001, in St. Johns at the downtown LDS chapel. Jewkes Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
