Mary Louise Alvis went to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan. 4, 2010. Mary was born on Oct. 3, 1945, in Prescott, Ariz., to Samuel and Marjorie Dodson. Mary graduated from Prescott High School in 1963 and shortly thereafter married her high school sweetheart, Roy Alvis. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Roy; her two children, Connie Evers (Randy) of Prescott and Justin Alvis (Cathy) of Prescott Valley; her grandchildren, Jessica and Krista Evers, Elah Alvis and Samantha Jeffcoat; siblings Margaret Norton, Russell Dodson and Ralph Dodson; and her father-in-law, Glenn Alvis. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Patricia Dodson and mother-in-law Clara Alvis.
Mary's family brought her great joy and she enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and camping.
A celebration of Mary's life will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at The Hillside Community Church in Prescott.
Services were entrusted to Hampton Funeral Home.
