Carlos Wade Nichols (also known as C.W. Nichols or Nick) passed away Dec. 21, 2009, at the VA Hospital in Prescott, Ariz.
He was born Dec. 27, 1916, in Mercer County, Mo. and was one of 12 children.
In 1941, he moved to California with his young family and eventually started working in the poultry business until 1971 when he moved to Colorado.
For 10 years, he was an Independent Tool Dealer in Colorado. Retiring to Prescott Valley, Ariz., in the 1980s, he enjoyed antiquing, collecting and selling at the swap meet with his wife.
He was a WWII Veteran serving in Germany and loved the USA. His many stories about his military service made him an American hero.
He is survived by his two daughters from his first marriage and three stepchildren from his late wife and two sisters. He had 29 grandchildren and great grandchildren in his combined blended family.
He has requested his ashes be scattered over Mingus Mountain.
