HANCOCK, John Weaver


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, January 02, 2010 John Weaver Hancock February 5, 1941 - December 17, 2009 Born in Alabama to Brooks and Ellen Hancock, John was one of eight children. He served proudly in the Marines from 1959 to 1965. John moved to Nevada and worked at the Test Site during the Cold War. While living in Las Vegas, he started his own glass and mirror business, where he created and decorated the mirror and rhinestone décor for Liberace's pianos and cars. John retired to Prescott Valley, Ariz., and enjoyed exploring the outdoors and refurbishing antique radios. He will be missed by his daughters, Danielle Neuman of Las Vegas, Nev., and Theresa Buczek of Lexington, Ky.; grandchildren Andrew Hancock, Brooke Hancock, Gabrielle Neuman and Kaden Neuman; and his sisters, Lane Cowart of Roswell, Ga., and Betty Salathe of Gardendale, Ala. A memorial service with military honors will take place in April 2010 at the Southern Nevada Veteran's Cemetery in Boulder City, Nev. Services entrusted to Hampton Funeral Home.
