Visitation will be held 5-8 PM, Rosary at 7 PM, Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at Chapel of the Chimes, 7924 N. 59th Ave., Glendale, AZ. Services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at St. Louis the King Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Avondale, AZ. Virginia was born on June 07, 1919 in Tucson, AZ and lived most of her life in the Phoenix, AZ area. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Visclosky. Virginia's immediate family included two children, Patricia Nitzsche of Fairfax Station, VA and Donald Rogers of Alta Loma, CA; two grandchildren, Mark and Michael Rogers of Eugene, OR, a sister Margaret Nichols of Tucson, AZ, her son-in-law Ret. Army Colonel Ronald Nitzsche and many in her extended family. Virginia was a teacher in the Alhambra District of Phoenix for 21 years before retiring in 1982. She received her BA degree from ASU and her MA degree from NAU. Virginia was active in many organizations including the Valley Garden Clubs, NEA, ASRS, AZ-PAC Ex. Bd., ADACT (President), AEA Legislative Committee, Legislature Chair ARTA and PRT, American Diabetes Association, Professional Affairs Chair Delta Kappa Gamma, Phi Delta Kappa-NW Chapter, Union Club, and Sun City. She was also an active proud member of the Democratic Party serving as a Precinct Committee Person, Deputy Registrar, District 16 Democrats, State Democratic Committee. The public visitation (5-7 pm) and the Rosary (7 pm) will both be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at the Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary (7924 North 59th Avenue in Glendale). The memorial service will be held on Wednesday (April 9) at 11:00 am at St. Louis the King Catholic Church (4331 Maryland Avenue in Glendale) followed by an internment ceremony at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery at 99th and West Thomas Road.
