Ellen Jane Mattson, 90, of Mesa, AZ, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2003. Ellen was born December 10, 1912 in Hibbing, Minnesota to John & Margaret Ormond McNair.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Mattson. She was also preceded in death by longtime friend & companion William "Bill" McPhearson. She was an award winning artist, who enjoyed sculpting and oil painting.

She is survived by: daughters, Margaret Roberts of Suisun, CA, Susanne Ashby & her husband James of Springfield, MO; sister, Dorothy Metz; brothers, Bob McNair & Donald McNair; granddaughter, Beverly Hadra and her husband Carl; grandsons Tom Ashby & his wife Lisa, Michael Roberts and his wife Michelle, Jim Ashby, Jr., Arthur Roberts. Eight great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. She was preceded in death by her son David Mattson. Also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home of Lewisville, Texas is in charge of arrangements.
