NEWELL,
Judson Reed
Judson Reed Newell, our beloved father, went to meet St. Peter on Saturday, May 24, 2003.
He is survived by a family who loved him dearly: his two daughters, Joy Newell Fig and Lori Newell Tyra; his two sons, Reed & Kent (Joe) Newell; nine grandchildren; daughters-in-law Susan and Barbara Newell; son-in-law Randy Tyra; and his ex-wife Kitty Newell Tanner.
Judson was born on November 6, 1922 in Lake Bluff, Illinois. Judson served in the navy during WWII. His professional life was a Planner/Estimator for the military civil service. Judson was one of the early members of the Don's Club in the 50's in Phoenix and remained a life member. During the 50's and early 60's he was active with the Phoenix Little Theater and Phoenix Musical Theater.
He is remembered as a father who loved his children and who always put his family first. He was generous and caring, and could be quite a character.
A gathering for a time of remembrance will be held at the home of Joe & Susie Newell on Sunday, June 8, 2003 from 12-2 p.m.
