Courtesy of Pat Wilson. --------------------- Monika McNeary was born on October 9, 1956 in Heidelberg, Germany to Horst and Maja Wenzel. She has two younger sisters. During her childhood she lived in Switzerland and England, which enabled her to learn and master English. She eventually went on to teach at the University of California Davis as a Fulbright scholar. Her following employment took her back to Germany, where she met and married Phil McNeary, an American service member, in 1986. In 1988 they transferred and worked in Honolulu, Hawaii. They came to Phoenix in 1992, where she enrolled in the Masters program at the University of Phoenix, leading to a Masters in Education. On Nov 3, 1993 she gave birth to her beloved son David. She was employed at the University of Advancing Computer Technology. Throughout she dedicated herself to the service of others. This included ministering to cancer patients at the same time she was battling this disease herself. We will miss her as she made a difference in all of our lives. Some people make the world more special just by being in it. Monika was one of those people. May she rest in peace. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, May 1st, 5pm at Unity of Phoenix, 1500 E.
