DEVALK, John C. (Jack)


John C. "Jack" DeValk, 74, of Coolidge died Dec. 26, 2000. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cole & Maud Chapel of the Valley Mortuary. The memorial service will be Saturday at Community Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Randy Campbell officiating. Mr. DeValk was born Dec. 26, 1926 in Chicago. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he was a retail salesman and millwright before retirement. He lived in Arizona beginning in 1979 and Coolidge since 1986. He was a deacon at Community Presbyterian Church, a member of American Legion and a Mason for 49 years. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Joyce; a daughter, Lana Joyce Boring of Tucson; two sons, John C. DeValk II of Springfield, Tenn., and Daniel W. DeValk of Momence, Ill.; a stepsister, Thelma Johnson of Pensacola, Fla.; a brother, Harold G. DeValk of Mount Prospect, Ill.; a stepbrother, Frank B. Johnson of Bradenton, Fla.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence E. DeValk.
