Loved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Thora Tobler Sorenson, 94, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, in Show Low. She was born April 9, 1915, in Washington, Utah, to Albert and Barbara Tobler.
She lived most of her life in Washington, Utah, but moved to Show Low when she was 80 years old to be near her family. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she held many positions in the different auxiliaries.
She was a great cook and worked in the Washington school lunch program for many years. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed life, her friends and especially her family. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Louis) Rawlings; five grandchildren Travis (Lila) Rawlings, Ryan (Jennifer) Rawlings, Tyler (Melissa) Rawlings, Tiffany Rawlings, Nicholas Rawlings and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Sidney N. Sorenson; parents, Albert and Barbara Tobler; three brothers, Archie, Ernest, Clark; five sisters Ella, Pearl, Vera, Lula and Neola.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at the Washington First Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:45 a.m.
