David Alonzo Ramirez, 26, died Jan. 10, 2010, following a tragic auto accident in Phoenix. David was born Sept. 8, 1983, in Payson, Utah, and moved to Phoenix at the age of 4. He then moved to Germany with his grandmother until 1994 when he moved to Show Low with his family.
He attended Show Low schools through the ninth grade, then attained his GED and completed some college courses. He was an athletic person, active in school and local sports, especially basketball and soccer. He was an outgoing person who enjoyed his many friends as well as meeting new people.
After many setbacks, David found his area of interest and was attending Hairstylists Barber School in Phoenix with a goal of someday owning his own shop. During this time he also kept active in sports by joining a city softball team called "The Average Joes" and was anticipating volunteering his services with a local soccer team. David was very devoted to his family and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children Zachery Cain of Holbrook, Jayden Ramirez of Show Low, Jada and Ameliea Ramirez of Texas; mother Laurel Goss of El Mirage; brother Gregory Goss of El Mirage; grandmother Patricia Goss of Show Low; aunts Karleen "Lee" Flores and Dana Self of Show Low; cousins Donnie Hudson and Carolyn Starkes of Tucson, Danielle Dayton of Vail, Chantalle Self of Mesa and Sean Recob of Show Low.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at the Owens Livingston Mortuary, White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th St. in Show Low.
