Paul Douglas Currier (known better as Doug or P.D.) died Dec. 11, 2009, in Mesa after suffering a heart attack.
Doug was born March 22, 1926, in Indianapolis, Ind., to Ruth and Azile Currier. He grew up and attended school in Tucson. He served in the South Pacific during World War II.
Doug knew and loved his Lord and Saviour and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Pinetop-Lakeside. He taught auto shop at Phoenix Union for 15 years and Blue Ridge High School in Pinetop for 10 years. He served as a member of the Pinetop Fire Board for 13 years. Doug was an avid skier, both snow and water, and was a member of the National Ski Patrol. His hobbies included woodworking, fishing and traveling. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife Celia (Sue) Currier; son Earl (Heather); stepson David (Sherry); stepdaughter Karen (Mike); grandchildren Tige (Sara), Michael (Crissy), Lindsay, Kim, Nicholas and Benjamin; great-grandchildren Faith and Jacob; nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends.
He was preceded in death by his late wife Gladys Mullen Currier, mother and stepfather Ruth and Earl Rooks; father and stepmother Azile and Florence Currier.
According to his wishes, creamation was accorded by the Neptune Society in Tempe.
A memorial services will be held at a later date.
