CHAVEZ, Delfin Thomas

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona 01/08/2010 Delfin Thomas Chavez, 65, of Concho entered eternal rest Jan. 4, 2010, at home in Concho. Delfin was born Dec. 20, 1945, in Concho to the late Abel and Rosa (Martinez) Chavez. A lifelong resident of Concho, Delfin always stayed busy with his various mechanical projects, as well as his favorite pastime, fishing. He is survived by his girlfriend of 14 years, Mary Poland of Concho; son Roy Chavez of Mesa; daughters Mercy Cordova of Concho, Mary Martinez of Tucson, Rita Zacharias of Phoenix and Diane Chavez of Phoenix; six grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters and numerous family members and friends. He was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers. A visitation was held Thursday, Jan. 7, at the St. Rita's Catholic Church with a Rosary recitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, also at the church. Interment will be in the Concho Cemetery. Owens Livingston Mortuary of Show Low handled arrangements.
