Philip Charles Olmstead died Dec. 18, 2009, in Mesa. He was born March 3, 1949, in Sonora, Calif. 
     
Philip joined the Marine Corp at age 17 and served a one year tour in Vietnam. After the service, he moved to Phoenix and attended Phoenix College and ASU. He then went to work for AT&T (Lucent) where he took disability in the mid 90s. He stayed in Phoenix most of his adult life. In 2005, he moved to Pinetop to help care for his mother and had just recently moved back to Phoenix.
     
He is survived by his mother Athena Olmstead and Michael Olmstead, Greg Olmstead, Gale Jones, Diana Lynn Galbreath
     
He was preceded in death by his father Charles L. Olmstead and nephew Troy Clarke
     
A family memorial will be held at later date.
