The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona 12/24/2009 Cynthia Howe Faurot died Dec. 15, 2009, at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix after a long, painful illness of undertermined origin. She was born in Kansas City, Mo., and grew up in Edina, Minn. Cynthia graduated from Northrup Collegiate School in 1951, where she was senior class president. She graduated from Briarcliff Junior College in 1953 and married William R. Faurot in 1955. They moved to Chicago where Cynthia worked as a secretary until the birth of their daughter. Cynthia played competitive tennis and enjoyed needlepoint. She operated Ceramic Galleries in Santa Fe, N.M., until she retired in 1998, when she and her family moved to Show Low. Cynthia became active in politics, was an avid gardener, knitter and cook. She is survived by her husband William; daughter Jenifer Faurot-Rodriguez and brother Richard Howe. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Humane Society of the White Mountains.
