KING, John W. (Jack)


John W. "Jack" King, 86, of Phoenix, passed away on April 30, 2003. Born, June 10, 1916, Phoenix, Arizona. A third-generation Arizonan, Jack was the last surviving of five sons of Ed and Katherine - King. A U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, he spent 4 years in Egypt in North Africa. Jack retired from the Arizona State Department of Revenue in 1979. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Laeone. He is survived by his son Richard and daughter-in-law Lynnette and his dearest and best friend Betty Hemphill and her family. Jack also leaves behind his sister-in-Jaw Hannah King and her family of Phoenix; his sister-in-law Vieda Colbert and her family of Parmington, NM and multitudes of long time friends and associates. Services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, May 3, at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the Arizona Humane Society 1521 W.
