Charles Francis
Charles Francis O'Brien II was born in Washington, PA on August 29, 1924. After Serving with the Army in World War II, he entered Notre Dame University and attended from 1945-1949, cheering on the Fighting Irish through four undefeated seasons while earning a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts. His talent in oil painting earned him several awards throughout the years.
His working career began in the family steel business in Pittsburgh, PA in the 1950's and spanned four decades. Charlie retired as a personnel manager from Stroehman Bros. Bakeries in 1986.
He relocated to the Phoenix area after the passing of his beloved wife Madeline. He had strong bonds to his Irish heritage and deep pride and love for his family. Charles F. O'Brien, a devout Catholic, passed away on June 23, 2002. He leaves behind four sons, two daughters, twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Dad, Grandpa you will always be in our hearts and prayers. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back.
