DAGGETT, George William

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Wednesday, April 9, 2003 George William Daggett, was born on August 11, 1922 in Crystal City Missouri. He passed on to begin eternal life with our Lord Jesus Christ on April 7, 2003. Surviving him is his loving wife of 60 years Nora Daggett. His five children: Georgia, Bill, Jack, Gail and Dan Daggett. George also has nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Our father pictured above served in the Marine Corp. during WWII. He served our Country with pride to protect the freedoms so many take for granted. In 1956 George moved his family from Ottawa, IL. to the great state of Arizona. As a result, George went from being a Police Officer to being a General Contractor who in his career, built over 60 church related projects. George was a Master Builder, who specialized in building Churches. He semi-retired from Daggett and Son's Construction Co. in 1978 to follow his dream of completing Daggett's Resort and Campground in Northern Wisconsin. Until his health started to fail in 2002, George would spend the spring, summer and fall months living his dream in fellowship with long time friends at our families fishing resort. During the winter months, George and Nora lived in Fountain Hills, Ariz. Both are very active in their church that my father built in the mid 90's. George Daggett was a man's man. Not because of his male prowess, but because he walked the walk of unconditional love and forgiveness. Never putting his own want's or need's before his families; our father was truly a man of moral integrity. George devoted much of his life's energy doing the Lords work. Our loss will surely be Heaven's gain. A Memorial service will be held on Fri., April 11, 2003, at 11 A.M. at the First Assembly of God church, 16238 Ironwood, Fountain Hills, AZ. Contributions may be made to Hospice of the valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014. Arrangements by Messinger Indian School Mortuary. Courtesy of Pat Wilson.
