BENEDICT, Raymond E.

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Thursday, April 10, 2003 Raymond E. Benedict, 72, Phoenix, AZ passed away at Hospice of Arizona on Mon., April 7, 2003. Raymond was born in Tracy, Minnesota on Jan. 14, 1931. Raymond grew up a farmer in southwestern Minnesota. Raymond was a very good athlete, which included boxing with the Golden Gloves. One of his greatest joys, however, was his love of flying. He loved flying his plane on the farm in Minnesota. He enlisted into the Navy in 1950 where he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. He and his wife Donna were married in 1958. They later moved to Phoenix in 1964 with their two children. He is survived by his wife Donna, son Scott, daughter Nancy and four grandchildren. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Fri., April 1, 2003 at Sts Simon & Jude Cathedral, 6351 N. 27th Ave., Phx. Donations can be made to Hospice of Arizona or MS Society. Courtesy of Pat Wilson.
