Anne A. Burdette passed away on April 9, 2003 in Scottsdale after a long battle with cancer.
She was born April 17, 1923 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she grew up in the Germantown area. During the war, she attended Denison University where she met her husband of 60 years, Richard Burdette. They resided in Piqua, Ohio for 10 years and then moved to Scottsdale 45 years ago in 1958 with their 3 children.
After receiving a Master's Degree in education from Arizona State University, she taught Kiva Elementary School for 15 years. She was active in several charities that provide help to children including the Boys and Girls Club, and was a faithful member of the Valley Presbyterian Church.
Anne will be remembered for her special kindness and gentleness and as a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and teacher and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by a loving husband, Richard; son, Richard (Julie) Burdette, Jr.; two daughters; Susan (Steven) Brasher, Vicki (Richard) Huber; a sister, Mary Lee Heuer; 7 grandchildren; Richard III, James, Ian, Robert, Megan, Kimberly and Brandon and 6 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 11, 2003 at 3pm at Valley Presbyterian Church, 6947 E. McDonald Dr., Paradise Valley, AZ.
