West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona January 8, 2010 Mary Lou Pruett, 81, of Goodyear died Dec. 30, 2009, at Banner Baywood Heart Hospital in Mesa. She was born June 26, 1928, in Van Lear, Ky. She moved to Arizona in 1970. She was a waitress at Smitty's Big Town Restaurant from 1970 to 1997. She retired to raise two grandchildren. She is survived by five daughters, Jamie L. Mattert, Amber McCall of Mesa, Jada Mattert-Gurley of San Juan Bautista, Calif., Margo Gage of Salinas, Calif., and Darlene Cazares of Escalon, Calif.; two sons, Tracy Mattert of San Jose, Calif., and Larry Mattert of San Jose; four sisters, Sally Dunlap of Youngstown, Ohio, Betty Boyles of Portland, Ore., Mae Kaehler of Portland, and Lorraine Brandis of Coos Bay, Ore.; 20 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. Visitation and services will run from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park, 6747 E. Broadway Road in Mesa. Services will begin at noon. The Revs. Mary Bullis and Dot Saunders-Perez will officiate.
