DAVIDS,
Arlene N.
(Maiden Name: Hollister)
Arlene N. Davids, 84. In loving memory of our mother and grandmother, who passed away June 4, 2003 at Odyssey Hospice in Mesa. Arlene, born on November 20, 1921 in Breedsville, Michigan, was the only child of William and Etta Hollister
On May 22, 1943 she married Tom Davids, an enlistee in the US Air Force. Tom passed away on February 3, 2003 just 3 months before they would have celebrated their 60th anniversary.
Arlene's warmth and love will be forever treasured by her son Jim (Donna) Davids of Mesa, and daughters: Diane (Milton) Wilcox of Sedona and Nancy (Michael) Leonard of Mesa.
Those special memories of a loving and devoted grandmother will live forever in the hearts of her three grandsons: Michael (Catherine) Davids, expecting the first great-grandson in September, Stephen Davids and Jeffrey Davids all of Mesa and her granddaughter Angela (Adam) Schneider of Houston.
Her greatest joy in life was always her family. She and her late husband Tom enjoyed many years of camping throughout the western states. The two of them passed along that love of nature to their children and grandchildren with whom they shared many special times exploring the desert and the woods and sharing moments around a campfire. She was enormously proud of her children and grandchildren and loved to share stories of their accomplishments and adventures with all of her many friends. She instilled in her family the values of hard work, commitment and a real joy of living. She enjoyed the fellowship of many dear friends in Beta Xi Alpha Epsilon Chapter and at First Methodist Church in Mesa.
A visitation will be held at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. Macdonald St., in Mesa, on Monday, June 9, 2003 from 10 AM to 11:30 followed by a private family burial service at the City of Mesa Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in her memory to Odyssey Hospice, 6215 E. Arbor, Mesa 85206 or a charity of your choice
We will miss the warmth of your smile, but know that together you and Dad (Grandpa) will be watching over us as our special angels. God Bless You.
