Arthur A. Haight, 95, a long-time resident of Arizona peacefully, passed away on June 4, 2003 at home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sisters and loving wife Barbara. Arthur is survived by his son Charles & Darlene Haight of Austin, Texas, daughter Patricia and Roy Farkash of Peoria, AZ, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Ion and Simona Duican.
He was with the 8th Service Command Band during World War II and played for the morale of the troops in person and via radio to thousands of listeners in the southern states. He was a member of many Masonic organizations for over 65 years including playing trombone for over 55 years in 11 different Shrine Bands.
He retired from Arizona State University in 1975 as the Assistant to the Comptroller and was responsible for creating the accounting system for the university, which was later adopted by the State of Arizona. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with family and long time friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 7, 2003 at 2:30 PM at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 N. 59th Avenue Glendale, AZ. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution should be sent to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital of their choice.
