Cherie Marie Rhind, Redmond resident, died Dec. 2, 2002 at a Redmond nursing facility. She was 56 years of age. Services will be held at Best Funeral Services, 501 E. Dunlap Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85020, Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002. Cherie was born on August 6, 1946 in Napa, California. She was born into a military family and lived overseas in places such as Scotland and Spain. She graduated from Shasta Jr. College in Redding, California. She left Redding, California for Arizona in 1979 and lived primarily in the Phoenix area. She moved to Redmond in April of 2002. Cherie was a business partner with her husband, Burke David "Opus" Rhind; they owned Film Producer's Warehouse in Phoenix. They provided cast, crew, equipment and permits to produce commercials. Her husband died in 1995. Cherie is a member of the Screen Guild. Survivors include her two sons, Brad Curd of Phoenix, Arizona and Kevin Curd of Lake Preston, South Dakota; one daughter, Laura Brown of Vacaville, California; father, Harold Graham Simpson of Carmichael, California; her stepfather, Benny Torres of Goleta, California; one brother, Ryne Torres of Lompoc, California; and five grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Louise Torres; and two brothers. Published in the Arizona Republic on 12/13/2002.
