SWEDEEN, Douglas Neil

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Friday, April 11, 2003 Douglas Neil Swedeen, of Mesa, Arizona, died April 9, 2003, after a valiant battle with leukemia. He was born in Sioux City, Iowa in 1931. He graduated from the University of South Dakota with a BA in business and from the University of Dallas with a MBA. He is survived by Jean, his loving wife of 48 years, and his three children; son, John and two daughters, Sandra Nelson and Linda Merkel. His son James died in 1999. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 12 at 1:30pm at the Red Mountain United Methodist Church, 2936 N.
