HORTON, Patricia Sue (Patty)

Westcott Funeral Home, Cottonwood, Arizona Patty Sue Horton, 71, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at Licking Park Manor. She was born April 20, 1938, in Wayland, Ky., daughter of Bernos and Irene Rogers Whittaker. She and Melvin Horton were married Oct. 25, 1956. She grew up in Phoenix, Ariz., and graduated from Glendale High School in 1955. She and her husband moved to Houston in 1991 and made it their home the past 18 years. She loved gardening, cooking, camping, fishing and playing board games. She was a big fan of the Andy Griffith Show. She was fond of animals, especially dogs. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Melvin of the home in Licking; two sons, Michael Horton of St. Louis and Doug Horton of Houston; a daughter, Lorrie Stys of Chandler, Ariz.; a brother, Ron Whittaker of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister; Linda Ann Dikes of Phoenix, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.
