BERG, Maryls

Maryls Berg on June 5, 2003 went home to be with her Lord & Jesus. Born April 2, 1918, she & her brother Kent were born & raised in Fosston, Minn. She later moved to Minneapolis, Minn. & attended Fairview Hospital school of nursing where she graduated as an R.N. in 1942. While attending nursing school she met & then married Obed Berg, her loving husband & best friend of 62 years. They started a family soon after & have 2 sons, Bill & Gordon. Maryls lived a long & loving life & always with a sense of "very dry" humor. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a dedicated wife & mother & a tremendous grandmother ... Not to mention, a loyal "Cubs Fan." She leaves behind her beloved husband, Dr. Obed Berg, sons Bill Berg & wife Jean, Gordon Berg & wife Meta, 5 grandchildren Mari Berg, Nick Berg, Chris Berg, Courtney Berg, & Jackie Berg, her brother Kent & wife Alice, 3 step-grandchildren Katie Holtzclaw, Matthew Childress, Lisa Childress & her fiance, David Olguin, & 1 step-great-grandchild, Logan Childress. Maryls, you have left an everlasting print of love on our hearts, & for that we thank you. Services will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the American Lutheran Church, 17200 Del Webb Blvd. Sun City, AZ 85373. Published in The Arizona Republic on 6/8/2003.
