George E.
George E. Frias, 84, was born November 5, 1918 in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico and passed away June 3, 2003.
During his childhood, George's family moved from Mexico to the mining community of Miami, Arizona. As a young man, he was an amateur boxer and a fan of the sport. A gifted chef and entrepreneur, he established his own Mexican food restaurant named Jorge's in Central Phoenix. Upon retirement at age 50, George enjoyed golfing, traveling, camping, fishing, and renovating properties. He was a loving and giving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Marina, five children, seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. A mass is being held in celebration of his life at St. Gregory's Catholic Church located at 3424 N. 18th Avenue at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 9, 2003. Arrangements handled by A.L. Moore Grimshaw Bethany Chapel.
