The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, January 20, 2010, page A-3 Emily June Head, age 68, passed away on January 10, 2010 in Yarnell, Ariz. Memorial services will be held on Sunday (Jan. 24) at 11 a.m. at the American Legion Post 79 in Yarnell. Born Emily June Meisner on June 23, 1941 in Billings, Mont., she lived in Lavina, Kline and Lewis, Mont., where her dad Art farmed. In her late teens she lived in Empire, Nev., and later moving to Blythe, Calif., where she met Lewis Head and they married in June of 1961. She had two sons, Marvin and Lester. Emily was a loving mother and homemaker. She crocheted afghans and made dresses and really enjoyed sewing. She was a drummer while in the high school band and also learned to play the accordion. Her husband Lewis worked for Southern California Gas Company and in 1977 they were transferred to Moorpark, Calif. Following Lewis’ retirement in 1990 they made their homes in Yarnell, and Dolores, Colo. Retirement was rough as Lewis was dealing with health problems. He received dialysis for seven years and later a kidney transplant. Lewis preceded Emily in death on May 15, 2005 as did a granddaughter, Audrey Head, in 1984. Emily loved to play bingo and cards, which she did quite well, playing often in Congress, Yarnell, and Prescott. She is survived by her sons Marvin of Ninilchik, Alaska; Lester of Tucson, and grandchildren Abby Charfauros (Jeremy), Nathan Head (Morgan), Joshua Head and Alex Head; and great-grandchildren Evan and Josh Charfauros.
