The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, January 20, 2010, page A-3 Barbara Ann “Bobbie” Bomar, age 73, passed away on January 12 in Surprise, Ariz. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church in Wickenburg with Pastor Dennis Frazer of Skull Valley Bible Church conducting. Bobbie was born in York, Penn., and raised there until her senior year when she moved to Arizona where she graduated from West Phoenix High School. She married Edd Bomar on July 2, 1955 in Phoenix and they made their home in Glendale where they lived for 35 years. Bobbie was primarily a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing, and especially gardening. She was a member of the West Dunlap Baptist Church for years where she was very active. She served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. In 1989 Bobbie and Edd moved to Peeples Valley. She loved the area and the mountains and enjoyed visiting with people and learning the history of the area. She was a member of the Skull Valley Baptist Church. Bobbie is survived by her husband Edd of Peeples Valley; children Shane and wife Patti; Shannon and husband Brian; and Shawn and wife Lori; as well as nine grandchildren - Amee, Brandon, Brittny, Max, Tyler, Emily, Kate, Nickolas and Kathryn. She is also survived by brother Jack Downs; nieces Lisa Downs, Lynda White, Jeanine Tschopp and Amy Kidd; nephews Mike Sipe and David Downs. Interment took place in Genung Cemetery in Peeples Valley. Arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home & Crematory.
