BALADY, Madeline


Madeline Balady, our golden star has passed. Our Heavenly Father has taken her, so that she might shine bright in the heavens above. Her love, her strength, her joy and her wonderful smile will remain with us forever. The St. John of the Desert's Melkite Catholic Chuch family will remember Madeline by her generosity in building their first church and her devotion to making all that was possible come true. Her spiritual love was passed on to all that knew her. The Cedar Club of Arizona was another loving passion of hers. In 1950 she helped build it from a home-to-home club into what it is today. Madeline Balady was 90 years old when she passed. She lived a life of love and fulfillment. She left behind a legacy of love, friendship, warmth and forgiveness. Two sisters, Florence Marengo & Vera Mushro; husband, Charles Balady; sons, Charles Balady Jr. and Louis Balady; and daughter, Bernadette Osborn, survive her. She has 9 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. All that knew her will miss Madeline Balady. Visitation with Prayers for the Dead on Sunday, December 15, 2002 at Whitney & Murphy Arcadia Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ. Funeral Service also be at Whitney & Murphy, Monday, December 16, 2002. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 10045 W. Thomas Rd., Avondale, AZ. A mercy meal will be held in her honor Monday, after services, at The Cedars, 1702 E. Northern Ave. Published in the Arizona Republic from 12/14/2002 - 12/15/2002.
