BURKETT, Robert Evan


Robert Evan Burkett, 60, was born Jan. 23, 1942 in Phoenix, AZ. He passed away Dec. 3, 2002 in Sumner, Oregon. He is survived by his wife Brenda, his mother Catherine Burkett, his sisters Donnie Bea Clonch and Stephanie Cramer and his brother Stephen Burkett. Robert grew up in Phoenix and really loved Arizona, especially Wickenburg and the Superstition Mountains where he rode horses. He was always a cowboy at heart and in real life when he worked on a range. He had many other jobs and was never afraid to try something new. Some of his jobs included, horseshoeing, gold mining, painting, solar electrical power, welding, construction, mechanical and car body repair which he learned from his father, Donald Evan Burkett. Robert was a generous man who was always willing to help his friends and even strangers. He knew God and thanked him everyday for everything he had and didn't complain about what he didn't have. He was loved by his wife, family, and the many friends he made. Services are pending to be held in Phoenix in late January. Published in the Arizona Republic on 12/14/2002.
