Polly Garrett, 87, born Jessie Pauline, on May 8, 1915, in Haleysville, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord on December 9, 2002. She passed away at the University of New Mexico Hospital, Albuquerque, NM. She and her family resided in Flagstaff for over 40 years and she was currently living in Elephant Butte, NM. She was a waitress for many years in Flagstaff, worked at Babbitts for a number of years and was a wonderful mother and homemaker. Her very best job was making memories for her children, grandchildren, and, great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, R.E. Garrett. She is survived by her three daughters, Charlotte Salter of Elephant Butte, NM, Charline Womack of Sun City and Carolyn Hurt of Laveen; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Queenie Bruce of Lamesa., TX: and numerous nieces and nephews, all out of state. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Truth or Consequences, NM. Services will be held Monday, December 16, 2002, with a viewing at Sunland Memorial Park, 15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City. Pastor Shon Wagoner, from the First Baptist Church in Truth or Consequences, will conduct the services. Published in the Arizona Republic from 12/14/2002 - 12/15/2002.
