WHITE, Lola Francis

Lola Francis Clevenger White, 87, passed away on April 30, 2003 in her home in Payson, Arizona. She is survived by her sister Alice Sliger and brother, Ernest Clevenger (Dot) and her children Lela (Lee) Overson, Phil (Judy), Randy (Pattie), and Bob (Pam). 27 grandchildren and 67 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ezra Geddis and their infant son, Raymond. Lola was born April 1, 1916 in Cedar City, Utah while her parents were traveling back to their homestead in Mesa. Lola spent her entire life in Arizona being raised in Mesa where she married the love of her life, EG, and where all 5 of their children were born. Her life was devoted to her husband and family. She spent many hours supporting the PTA, going to her son's ball games, being the school class mother, sewing beautiful western shirts for her husband and sons, making quilts, canning and helping her daughter grow up with singing lessons. She was known as a wonderful cook winning a pie baking contest at the state fair. She supported her husband in his General Contracting business by home decorating and real estate transactions. Lola was a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While in Mesa she lived in the Alma Ward boundaries serving as a teacher in many organizations, Relief Society President and on the Relief Society stake board. When EG retired in 1972 they moved to Payson. Mother will be fondly remembered and missed. She acted as a friend, a special confidant, and a counselor to friends and family alike. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 5, 2003, at 10 AM at the Payson LDS Chapel with a viewing at 9AM. The grave dedication will be at the Mesa Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
