ANGENY, Edward Thomas


Edward Thomas Angeny of Chandler passed away June 6, 2003. Born on August 6, 1914 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he married Helen Buehl in 1938. He was a graduate of Juniata College, Bethany Theological Seminary and Union Theological Seminary. He and his wife Helen began serving as missionaries in China in 1939. They were interned in a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp in Baguio on Luzon Island in the Philippines. After the war, he served as pastor to churches in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Ft. Defiance, AZ. He is survived by Helen, his wife of 65 years, daughters Carol Wion and husband Sheldon, Phyllis Hochstetler and husband Harry, 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
