HUGHES, Margaret A.

Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ, Friday, Sept 18, 1942 FUNERAL TUESDAY FOR MRS MARGARET HUGHES A light has gone out in Wickenburg! With the passing of Mrs Margaret Hughes on Sunday last, a loss has been sustained by many of her friends here. Mrs Hughes came to Wickenburg a year and a half ago hoping to regain her health, but fought a losing battle. For one entire year she has been confined at the local hospital during which time she had made many friends as people came and went. She once was known to say, "It was astonisheing that a person, a total stranger, could walk into a town and be received as I have been." But her refined personality, her courage, perseverance and kindliness withal is something which those who knew her best will long remember. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p. m. on Tuesday at the Wickenburg Chapel with Rev. Ross Cleeland officiating, and burial was made in the Wickenburg Cemetery. Mrs Hughes is survived by two daughters, Mrs A. F. Carroll of Washington, D. C. and Mrs J. C. Dean of Everett, Washington.
