Deseret News, The (Salt Lake City, UT) - January 21, 2005 Grace DeSpain Tanner Low 1912 ~ 2005 Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at her home on January 18, 2005 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 93. Grace was born January 4, 1912 in Concho, Arizona, a daughter of David S. and Rozalia Gillespie Despain. She married Irvin Tanner, April 24, 1928 in Kingman, Arizona. Their marriage was solemnized May 14, 1966 in the Mesa Temple. Irvin preceded her in death in 1975. She married longtime friend, Lester Low, April 1, 1981 in the Mesa Temple. He preceded her in death in 1990. Grace was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting and embroidery. She was an active member of the LDS Church. Survivors include her daughter, Karen (Kenny) Owens, Kearns; a sister, Rozalia Hayes, Arizona; a brother, Melvin (LaVelle) DeSpain, Arizona; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; husbands; five brothers; two sisters; daughter, Sylvia Tanner; son, Wayne Tanner; grandson, Kevin Owens and great-grandson, Tim Edsall. The family would like to thank Haven Hospice for the loving care and support given to Grace and her family by Brandy, Regina and Barbara. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Kearns 10th Ward, 5025 West 4865 South. A viewing will be at 11:30 a.m. prior to services. Arrangements made under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
