LEWIS,
Sheryl Ann
(Maiden Name: Metzger)
Sheryl Ann Lewis, 39, of Chandler Arizona, the cherished wife of Clyde Lewis, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2003.
Sheryl was born to brighten our world on June 4, 1963 in Warsaw, Indiana, and grew up in the Indiana area. While attending college and working in Albuquerque, New Mexico, she found her true soul mate, Clyde Lewis, and the couple was married on February 12, 1983. Sheryl and Clyde were blessed with the birth of their son Christopher on August 22, 1983, and moved to the Phoenix area in 1984 where they spent many wonderful years together traveling, hiking, and living life to the fullest.
Sheryl's husband, son, and her family were always the most important things in her life, followed closely by beautiful sunsets, ceramics, and puppies. For more than anything in her life, Sheryl will be remembered in the hearts of all who knew her for the love, joy and energy that she spread wherever she went. She sparked any gathering with her warmth, caring and wonderful sense of humor. Sheryl truly had a gift for touching her family and the people she met. Her constant optimism, positive outlook and caring for others made everyone around her feel better about themselves and their world.
In addition to her husband, Clyde, and son, Christopher, Sheryl is survived by her mother, Doris L. Rheam and her husband Michael, father, Herman U. Metzger and his wife Debbie, sisters, Becky Grey and her husband David, Tamara Scanlon and her husband Tom, and brother, Steve Metzger and his wife Renea. She is also mourned and missed by many grieving friends and family members whose lives were touched by Sheryl.
God saw you getting tired, when a cure was not to be, so He closed his arms around you, and whispered, "Come to me". You didn't deserve what you went through, and so He gave you rest. God's pardon must be beautiful, for He only takes the best. And when we saw you sleeping so peaceful, free from pain, we could not wish you back to suffer that again.
Memorial Services will be held at the Falconer Funeral Home, 251 W. Juniper Avenue, Gilbert, Arizona on Tuesday May 6, at 2 p.m. Family flowers only please. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sheryl's name either to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central & Southern Arizona, 711 East Northern Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85020 or the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
