Theodore "Ted" Porowski of Congress died Oct. 12, 1993, in Phoenix. He was 70. Mr. Porowski was born July 20, 1923 in Yonkers, N. Y., and had lived in Arizona for 24 years, moving here from Virginia. He was a World War II, Korean and Vietnam veteran in both the Army and Air Force and his rank was Tech Sergeant. During his 21-year military career, he specialized in aerial photography and strategic planning. Many of his assignments were top secret. He authorized three books on landography, relative to his military carerr, which dealt with studies of the land and water and its resources in Africa. His hobbies and interests in mining and geology had attracted him to the Wickenburg and Congress area, where he and his wife Lois met and resided for 20 years. He was also fluent in six languages. He is survived by his wife, Lois of Congress; son David of Virginia; daughter Debbie Willett of Texas; stepdaughters Shirley Seay of Georgia, Sharon Clark of New Mexico and Rolinda Redard of California; brothers Leo of Montana and Chester of New York; sisters Jennie Strahl of Iowa and Cassey Maulen of New York; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Interment will be at the Congress Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. Frey Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
