ROWTON, Samuel Richard

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ Wednesday, October 6, 1993 Samuel Richard Rowton of Avondale, a former Wickenburg resident, died Oct. 1, 1993, at the Maricopa County Medical Center. He was 90. Mr. Rowton was born Aug. 1, 1903 in Black Springs, Arkansas, and had lived in Arizona for 13 years. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witness. Prior to his death, the family consisted of five first born generations of which he was the oldest. Mr. Rowton is survived by daughters Loriane Crane of Avondale, Mae Crofoot of Silverlake, Oregon, June Pickett of Coosbay, Oregon, and Darlene Gutierrez of North Plains, Oregon; a brother, Hershal Rowton of Oregon; 47grandchildren; over 100 great-grandchildren and 35 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie, in March of this year, daughters Murel Colebank and Barbara Smith and a son Samuel Rowton. Services have been held, interment was at the Wickenburg Cemetery, Mike McCarty officiated. Wickenburg Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangments.
