SHAWHAN, Charles
Longtime Wickenburg Sun Aguila columnist Charles Shawhan died on Nov. 2, 1993, after several bouts with illness. Shawhan brought the events in the community to the area with his own style. A veteran of the United States Army, Shawhan found time for hobbies while remaining involved with the town in which he lived. He had written "Aguila Outlook" for the Sun since January, 1990. Shawhan, 73, was born Dec. 4, 1919. He leaves behind his wife, Elizabeth M. Shawhan of Aguila; two sons, Bradley Shawhan of Woodenville, Wash., and Richard C. Shawhan of Woodenvile. He had three daughters, Patricia J. Onosen of Kirkland, Wash., Nancy Shawhan of Kirkland, Wash., and Marcia A. Enright of Woodenville, Wash., as well as a daughter-in-law, Sue Shawhan of Woodenville. He also had eight granddaughters, and two grandsons. Shawhan was preceded in death by his parents, Robert F. and Orphia M. Shawhan of Woodenville. Shawhan's hobbies included collecting stamps and miniature trains. He was an avid reader. He and his wife worked side by side at home on all kinds of electronics. Shawhan had lived in Arizona for ten years. His services were a private cremation.
