The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Tuesday, January 26, 2010 Ray, Anna 'Virginia' 94, of Phoenix passed away January 23, 2010. She was born in San Angelo, Texas August 11, 1915 to Tom and Leona Watson. Her family moved to Phoenix in a covered wagon in September 1918 from Ft. Worth, Texas, a journey of three months. She was a charter member of the Phoenix Cotton Wives and served as Vice President the first year. She also served one year as Vice President of the IOMSA Women's Auxillary (International Oil Mill Superintendent's Association). She was a avid bowler and had a very dear group of friends with whom she played bridge and poker weekly. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Ray, mother, father, sister Geraldine Watson and brother J.D. Watson. She is survived by her daughter Leona Fields of Phoenix, son, James Ray Jr., of Phoenix; sister Mary Ferro of Camarillo, CA., six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Hospice of the Valley 1510 E. Flower St. Phx. AZ 85014. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 P.M. with services starting at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at A. L. Moore Grimshaw 710 W. Bethany Home Rd. Phoenix. Interment to follow at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery 2300 W. Van Buren, Phoenix.
