Sandra (Sandy) S. Perkins
May 2, 1940 - Dec. 31, 2009
Sandra was born in Mineral Wells, Texas, to Floyd and Jo Bolton. After graduation from Temple High School, she married Donald James Hollis in 1957. The couple resided in Southgate, Calif., where they raised three children. She was preceded in death by Donald in 1978.
Sandra married John Perkins in 1987, residing in Anaheim, Calif., prior to moving to Prescott, Ariz. For a short time, she owned and operated a clothing store, Sandy's Place, in downtown Prescott. Until her recent illness, she was a longtime employee of Karen Lollar at K's Lighting.
Her hobbies included painting, fishing and baking, but she loved just being a wife and homemaker. She was a courageous cancer survivor of four years and recently under the care of YRMC Hospice of Prescott Valley.
Sandra was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was loved by all who knew her. She leaves behind her loving husband, John, and four children, Michael Hollis of East Grand Forks, Minn., Jerri Hollis of Prescott Valley, Ariz., Donita Hollis of Bellflower, Calif., and stepdaughter Sandy Marcotte of Anaheim, Calif.; and seven grandchildren. She is also survived by four siblings, Mel Bolton of Lake Havasu, Kaye Nix of Las Cruces, N.M., and Ronald and Donald Birkes of Temple, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to YRMC Hospice, 3262 N. Windsong Drive, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314.
Wakelin Bradshaw Chapel assisted the family.
