The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Saturday, April 12, 2003 Joe Oliver Giddens, 79, of Phoenix passed away on April 8, 2003. Joe was born October 29, 1923 in Childersburg, AL. A retired Weapons Mechanic for the U.S.A.F./Lockheed, he has resided in Arizona for 38 years. A U.S.A.F. veteran of WW II and Korea. A member of the American Legion and V.F.W. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, father-in-law, brother, uncle and friend. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth of Phoenix. Children Charles Van Dunk of Phoenix, Catherine Crader of Glendale, Joleene Giddens of Atascadero, CA, Joe Giddens II of Phoenix, Deborah Bensley of Phoenix, Mary Giddens of Phoenix, Bruce Giddens of Peoria. Brothers John Giddens of Mart, TX and Charles Giddens of Taos, NM. 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 11 nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cavecreek Rd., Phoenix, AZ. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E.
