Irlin M. "Scotty" Ulmer and his wife Eleanor passed away 17 hours apart on May 2, 2003
'Scotty" and Ellie were married 62 years. They are remembered for their good-heartedness and contributions to their friend, neighbors, church and community.
They are survived by four children: Diane Higgins, Durango, Co., Don Ulmer, Avondale, Debby Christian, Avondale, Dixie Reed, Manhattan, Ks.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Moving to Arizona 55 years ago, from Topeka, In., the couple operated a dairy farm for 26 years in Peoria and later in Tolleson, retiring 23 years ago to their home at Glen Arm Farms in Avondale.
A celebration of their lives will be held Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church at Litchfield Park, 300 North Litchfield Road. The family is requesting contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of the Valley, in lieu of flowers.
