BASILA, David Fred


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Sunday, April 13, 2003 David Fred Basila, born June 25, 1927, began his journey to heaven on April 10, 2003. David spent his youth in Bisbee and Warren, Arizona. He served in the U.S. Army for two years. He attended the University of Arizona and received his degree in Pharmacy. David and his late wife Betty had seven children. David spent his retirement years in Lakeside, Arizona with his lovely wife Joan. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Pinetop. David will be remembered by his many friends for his wit, humor and love. Dave's parting words were "I am where I want to be...happy in God's quiet safe-keeping". He is survived by his wife Joan; sons, David and wife Pam, Gregory and wife Lisa; daughters, Sheree and husband Joe, Desiree, Kimberly, Stephanie, Raquel and husband Jamie; 12 grandchildren; brother Al Basila and wife Marlene; sisters, Louise Felix and husband Eddie, Norma Francies and husband Phill. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2003 from 6-8 P.M., with Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M., at Whitney & Murphy Arcadia Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 14, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11001 N. 40th St. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia Foundation, 3404 S.
